On a Personal Note:

I can't mark the first time John and I met, but I remember it was through our common personal friendship with writer Terry Tempest Williams and the meeting was at least 25 years ago. Terry and John had collaborated on a book of photographs and essays called "Coyote's Canyon." John's photographs were stunning and Terry's essay were personal and passionate. Since that time I've collaborated separately with both Terry and John, to my great delight. John and I shared a passion for fine photography and we've been friends ever since that first meeting. We've taught many workshops together and I'm sure we have both felt pangs of envy when the other makes a wonderful photograph we wish that we had made ourselves. Since John began teaching at BYU our paths have diverged a bit, but my hope is that we can reconnect and share laughs, stories and images again soon.
